Perry Miniatures release TravelBattle
Alan and Michael perry of Perry’s Miniatures are renown for their figure sculpting skills and exquisite miniatures in all scales from 15mm to the mighty 90mm, and while 28mm is preferred, it seems that figure sculpting is not skill they have, as they engage in a new area of tabletop gaming with TravelBattle, a self contained 8mm! board wargame that can be played on the go.
While a board wargames may not be new, what TravelBattle brings to the table (No pun intended: Ed,) is a way for those familiar and more interested in traditional wargaming to be able to utilise existing skill sets and Historical gaming
Ok strange one here most of the post is missing please keep notice as will fix this.
Super secret history of the Tau by Gav Thorpe.

A quick one today.

From ones usual wandering in the interweave one came across an interesting article by Gav Thorpe, and how the Tau a species by Gw for its 40k game came to be.
This is an interesting and insightful piece and shows how a core idea can undergo several itinations before it is released in its final polished form. It is also an cautionary tale for those looking to get into the gaming industry of how your super special idea can be broken down and never see the light if day or redeveloped to fit the company needs.
Still it is an interesting piece and has Gav’s usual informative style.

Mini Gangs a new range and Venture from Ramshackle Games

About: Mini Gangs is a tabletop strategy game for ages 7 and up.

As
part of our premis we are constantly on th look out for new and
interesting developments in and around Nottinghamshire, and so we turn
our eyes to Ramshackle Games and there new game currently in
Development.

A new game is very much in development by
Ramshackle Games, and working under the title of Mini Games, a fun and
friendly tabletop miniature game that allows for quick style play games.
While the rules are still a little way off we are getting our first
quick look
at some of the models ranges for it.

Quote “I made this page as I want to have a page for Minigangs. As Im still
developing it I thought it might be fun to show some of the work from
“behind the scenes”. As I mentioned in my previous post Im writing rules
and sculpting figures. I took some images of the progress so far. To
make the models I use a wire armature and sculpt over the top with
ProCreate. I usually start with the feet and work up. As you can see,
some of the models are up to the neck, while some are still below the
waist! The white parts are plasticard. I will post up some images of the
plastic parts I make for the models too.”

Well another day another model! Some suggestions for names would be
great. This guy is the second of 4 in the Keychain Mohawks gang.

Lady Ironstrike. Her shield is a separate part, attached by a tab onto
the base stand. These images I’m posting up of these models are how they
will be going to the casters. Several have extra or alternate parts

well as we can see their is a lot of interesting ideas and variety with each gang having both a theme and dynamic pose. Yet the feel of a Steampunk vibe does run through the entire range.
Looking forward to seeing more.

Devir Licenses Games Workshop Gretchinz for Wacky Racing Game

Devir Licenses Games Workshop Characters for Wacky Racing Game: ‘Gretchinz’

It seems the new CEO of GW is truly ringing in the changes with new licensing options for many of Games Workshops ranges, and non more so than the Spanish game publisher Devir Games (Roberto Fraga & Yohan Lemonnier, behind the hit game Captain Sonar by) announcing a deal with GW to produce a wacky races style card game, Gretchinz, set in the grim dark world of Warhammer 40k

Rumour suggests that it could see release in GW’s 4 Quarter, allowing for a nice financal boost during this time.

The game mechanics make use of the double sided tarot sized cards, this offers the designers much more space to add visual goodness and lots of easy to read stats. Current rumour suggests that each player may see
the attack side of ‘their’ cards, while their opponents may only see the
hazards on the cards rear, but with the games cards forming the race track as they’re played on the table. Each player must join a “Klan” which provides them with unique special abilities, all of which mounts up to an insane Orky and unlikely
racing machine very much in the same vein as Gorkamorka.

What makes this game divergant from the usual fare of GW and its spin off’s is the approach to the material; rather than the usual ‘Grim Dark, Gothic feel’ this is being pitched as a light hearted fun game with the game Gretchinz
imagine high speed wacky races between Gretchins

Gretchinz style has been captured by Eisner-nominated comic artist Albert
Monteys, so you know it will look great.

It’s intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 8+, and will only take around 20 minutes to play, so a great one for tourney players.to grab a quick game to relax and have a laugh with between games

The cost of the card game has not been announced yet.

Exciting times ahead
